One of a kind desk lamp built around the ML-5948A Hydrogen Thyratron Tube on a handmade copper base under a glass cloche. The ML-5948A acted as a switch to pulse high energy (12 megawatts) into a modular circuit and was used by the US Navy for radar jamming from 1958. It would have been mounted in the USAF T-33 jets and used to train pilots in radar jamming.
26″ tall and 9″ diameter, this lamp features a dimming /on/off knob. Glass, wood, copper, phenolic, ML5948A tube.
